ABOUT OUR HISTORY AND READERSHIP

Nappaland.com "The Free E-Magazine for Families" launched its first issue in spring of 2000. (For those of you who remember it, we had an, um, interesting orange and yellow theme running through the pages in those days! Don't ask us why. We were young, and we liked orange at the time. Hey, we all make mistakes.)

The brainchild of CBA bestselling and award-winning authors, Mike Nappa & Amy Nappa, Nappaland.com "The Free E-Magazine for Families" debuted strongly and has since attracted millions of unique readers who come from--literally--all over the world..

"We wanted to do something for readers," Mike says, "something that would encourage them and that wouldn't cost them anything. We felt like God had freely given us unique talents and resources, and we wanted freely give of those resources in response to God's generosity.

"We are professional authors, and so we have to earn our living from our writing. But we realized one day that while we had to write to earn money, not everything we wrote had to earn money. So we started brainstorming what we could give away in terms of our time and talent, and Nappaland.com was the result."

Over the years, other talented, likeminded authors and editors joined the staff of Nappaland.com, donating their creative work as well. And unexpectedly--with no advertising budget, no marketing budget, and no paid staff members--this little Internet magazine exploded into a full-fledged, internationally seen web site. Kinda cool, huh?

ABOUT OUR FOCUS

Nappaland.com's editorial focus can be summed up in three words:

bulletFree
bulletRelevant
bulletEternal

FREE. Nappaland.com is fully funded by an ongoing grant from Nappaland Communications Inc, and staffed entirely by volunteers. As a result, we are able to offer high quality content without charging our readers a subscription fee. Note: While we appreciate the generosity of those who have offered to donate funds to the work of Nappaland.com, at present we are not accepting any financial donations. If you want to support this site, then please buy books and products by the authors and editors who contribute their time and talents to this magazine. If they continue to earn money through their own normal means, then they can continue to afford to donate to this publication. Thanks!

RELEVANT. What does it mean to be a person of faith and a parent of faith in 21st century America? We believe it means understanding and exploring our modern culture from a Christian worldview and with our families in mind. Our goal is the incarnational model of Jesus Christ himself, who completely immersed himself in the culture yet completely honored Father God with his life at the same time. Of course, we continually fall short of this goal, but at least we're trying.

And by the way, we apologize in advance for the occasional, inevitable articles and/or comments that you might find offensive. We've certainly had our share of "hate mail" over the years, and want you to know that it is never our intention to offend. Challenge you to think? Sure. Encourage you to discuss? Absolutely. But offend you? Well, no. It may happen (OK, it probably will happen), but please know we don't write this magazine with that as our purpose. We simply want help you grow in your faith and family skills as you inhabit our modern American culture. In other words, we want to help you live a Relevant lifestyle of faith as a parent in your family.

ETERNAL. In the end, the only thing that lasts forever is truth, and we believe ultimate truth is found in the Bible. So don't be surprised when we reference a Scripture or explore biblical history or biblical concepts within the pages of this magazine. We figure that, even if you disagree with our opinions, you're still big enough, and open-minded enough, to handle these kinds of "eternal" discussions with us. (And if you're not, then, well, grow up, OK?)

ABOUT ADVERTISING ON NAPPALAND.COM

At present we do not accept outside advertising. (Sorry!) Our philosophy has been to reward our content contributors and our publishing partners (such as companies whose products we review in the magazine, or companies who publish products by Nappaland.com authors) with free ads, as appropriate, on the site. Other than that, we do not accept offers to buy ad space or swap links or things such as that. (Again, sorry!)
